Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit Sun Dipped Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit Sun Dipped Review

Hi loves!  Today, I will be reviewing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit that I ordered from Ulta.  I already own the ABH Glow Kit in That Glow and they are my favorite powder highlighters ever.  I adore the stunning shades and beautiful formula so when I saw ABH came out with a new kit with deeper shades, I was eager to put it to the test and see if it matches in quality.

What it is:  Four velvety powders that instantly cast a lit-from-within glow (Packaging excerpt).

Price: $40, 4 x 0.26 oz

Where to Buy: Ulta, Sephora, ABH website

Packaging:  I love how compact and sleek the packaging is.  It has a decent weight, feels sturdy in the hands, and stays closed with a strong magnetic closure.  I have had no issues traveling with the other ABH Glow Kit, so this would also withstand the abuse of travel in a cosmetics bag.  Additionally, these individual powders can be removed from their packaging and placed in Z- palettes.  Extra bonus points!

Formula:  I adore the formula of these highlighters!  They are so creamy and I had zero issues with fallout when dipping my brush in these powders.  These are so smooth and finely milled, imparting a stunning sheen without a hint of glitter.  They are insanely pigmented so a little goes a long way or you can pack it on for intense luminosity.

20160713_134556_20160714161148285Color:  This sleek compact comes with 4 warm shades of super pigmented highlight powders.  You can rock whichever color fits your mood or custom mix your perfect shade.  My favorite shades are Tourmaline, a unique rose-gold, and Moonstone, a soft champagne.

Application:  I like using a fan brush to apply a wash of this on the highpoints of the cheekbones and a bit on the tip of my nose.  For the eyes, I use a detailed brush for the inner corners and a flat shader brush for under the brows.  I prefer a natural glow for everyday, but if desired, you can really pack on the highlighter for photos or a night out.

Overall Rating:  I rate the ABH Sun Dipped Glow Kit as 10/10 stars!  I held this product to very high expectations because of my love for That Glow Kit, and this definitely met them.  For $40, this is actually a pretty good value for a gorgeous assortment of 4 high quality highlighters.  All these shades would look particularly stunning on those with medium to deeper skin tones.  For those who are more fair, Bronzed and Tourmaline may be too dark as highlighters, but they could be used as a shimmery blush/bronzer topper.  If you have a lighter skin tone and want to utilize all the shades for highlighting, I would recommend the Gleam Kit (pink/cooler tones) or the That Glow Kit (golden tones).  I am in LOVE with this Glow Kit and would recommend it as an amazing addition to your highlight collection!

Have you tried the ABH Sun Dipped Glow Kit?  What are your thoughts on the product?

XOXO,

Mary Dee

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette Review

Hi loves!  Today, I will be reviewing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette that I ordered from Ulta.  I already own the Shadow Couture World Traveler Palette, Self Made Palette, Artist Palette, and I ADORE them all.  They each come with a beautiful assortment of high quality eye shadows.  I’ve seen glowing reviews about this particular palette on YouTube, so I was eager to put it to the test and see if it lives up to the hype.

Packaging:  The packaging is fairly compact and sleek.  It has a decent weight, feels sturdy in the hands, and stays closed with a magnetic closure.  I have had no issues traveling with the other ABH palettes, so this would also withstand the abuse of travel in a cosmetics bag.  I enjoy the feel of the pink, suede exterior of the palette.  It reminds me of the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Palettes.  The pink suede is very feminine, although I can foresee this becoming stained quickly.  This palette also includes a flattering mirror inside and a handy dual ended eye brush.  ABH’s other palettes also came with the same brush and they are actually great quality.  The fluffy end is wonderful for blending transition shades into the crease and the denser end can be used for packing color around the lash line.

Formula:  According to Sephora.com: A present-day take on Renaissance colors, this eye palette features 14 shades that let you create stylish, day to night looks.   I am so blown away by the quality of these eye shadows!  They are even smoother than the shades in my other ABH palettes.  These eye shadows are so pigmented that the colors shine vibrant and true, even against my golden-tan skin tone.  Additionally, they are so creamy and blend like a dream on the lids, creating the softest, smokey eyes.  Because they are so buttery soft, there was quite a bit of shadow pick up and fallout when I initially dipped my brush in the shadows.  However, this is not a big issue to me as I typically apply my eye shadow before my face makeup anyways.

Color:  I am obsessed with warm toned eye shadows so this palette is pretty much a compilation of my favorite shades ever.  There is a nice selection of 3 satin/metallic shades and 11 matte shades. The gorgeous range of warm transition shades are my jam!  My favorite shades are Raw Sienna (neutral amber with an ultra-matte finish), Red Ochre (sienna with an ultra-matte finish), and Realgar (brick with an ultra-matte finish).   I cannot get over how stunning these shades are!

Application: I created my go-to warm smokey eye by applying a mix of Tempera and Vermeer on the brow bones to highlight, a wash of Raw Sienna as a transition, blended Red Ochre in the crease, and Cyprus Umber along the lash line.  These shadows can be applied as a soft wash on the lids for everyday or you can really pack on the color for photos.

Overall Rating:  I rate the Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette as 10/10 stars!  I held this product to very high expectations because of the brand and hype, and this surpassed them all.  For $42, this is actually a pretty good value for a gorgeous assortment of high quality eye shadows.  If you are a lover of warm and berry tone eye shadows,  this beautiful palette would make an amazing addition to your collection.  I am in LOVE with this palette and would recommend it again and again.
